I bought this album when I was a kid because I liked the cover, it looked so textural and pleasing and secretive, and because I’d read somewhere about kids sweating in Detroit and blasting it on their car stereos up and down every single block. What is this? It was the first time I learned what discovery was; I found it. (It was new to me, I mean.) Everything is still true. Turn it up.
