Tonight I’m going to see this film, which features a performance of this song by the then-unknown South African singer and civil rights activist Miriam Makeba. This is a blog post exploring her vast (vast, vast) library of work — parring it down to 25 of her least known, most likely to be out-of-print tracks. How incredible!

“Into Yam,” though, is one of my favorites. I could listen again and again.
